Chinese celebrity with over 7m followers seeks investment for event to be hosted in the O2 arena 2012

The Chinese artist concert industry in Europe has been proven to be a large blue ocean market. A Hong Kong singer is hosting a concert at O2 Arena in 2012 April. The average price for a ticket was around £90 and surprisingly 20,000 tickets were sold out in 20 minutes weeks ago. Nevertheless, this artist is still not the top artist in Asia. In 2012, we have contracted the top Chinese band in Asia and we will be hosting their first London concert at the O2 Arena in 2012 March. We are fairly confident with tickets sale and we expect to achieve a net profit of 1.3 million pounds from this concert.
The Chinese society in Europe has been a rapidly expanding market in the recent decade. The numbers of international student and overseas employee grow exponentially since 2000 (BBC News, 2011). According to UK Council for International Student Affairs UKCISA, there was an overall 10% increase in the amount of international higher education students in UK in 2010 (UKCISA, 2010). Our targeting audiences are the Chinese and Mandarin speaking international students in London which most of them are from the richest families in their home country. It has been proven by statistics that the Chinese international students are the big spenders in the society of London. Greater London Authority declared the numbers of Chinese student in London doubled from 2003 to 2006 and those Chinese students contribute over 110 million pounds to London’s Economy in 2006 (Greater London Authority, 2008).
In 2010, the total amount of international students in UK was 405,810 with more students from China than any other country. Certainly the Chinese market in Europe is valuable and definitely worth investing in. |
