What is your interest in Business angel investing? (Please provide as much info as possible - we do not approve all investor accounts so this is important)
What is your interest in Angel investing?
My interest in acting as an angel is principally due to a keenness to help small business grow, and share in the wealth that this generates.
I am an experienced business professional having been involved in new business ventures and private equity investments through my career.
I have a passion for supporting and growing start up businesses and would like to consider opportunities available through Venture Giant to continue this.
What types of Investments are you Looking to invest into on Venture Giant?
Investments of £10k-£25k (possibly as part of a syndicate) looking to buy minority stakes in businesses with strong product concepts and good entrepreneurs that can achieve breakeven within a 12-24 month period.
As a Private investor is your Angel Investing experience and what is your background?
Relevant experience that I have in relation to angel investments includes:
- From a professional perspective I have worked as the Director of M+A for the UK division of a FTSE 100 company
- Further to this I have worked for a boutique consultancy providing investment advisory services to Private Equity companies seeking investment
- As an entrepreneur I was part of the founding team of a consulting business in South Africa
- I have also supported a number of start up businesses in the financial services sector
- Currently I have invested in a start-up insurance business and sit on their board as a non-exec director (note: this business was authorised by the FSA in April and has commenced trading)
Currently I have access to up to £200k that could be used for investment, and have access to further funding sources should larger deals require additional funding. However I would prefer to focus investments tranches in the £10k to £25k range.
I am more interested in early stage start-up investments, preferring to focus in the Financial Services sector, with further interest in areas including technology / bio tech, health and wellness, and industrial chemicals and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
